At a March 30 reception for the delegation of IRKUTSK province (Russia), headed by Mr. Vladimir Derefeev, the 1st Vice Governor of the province, Quang Ninh's Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Thanh made a brief introduction about Quang Ninh's outstanding potential and its achievements in socio - economic development in the recent years.
He then stressed that the cooperation between the Quang Ninh and Irkutsk is not commensurate with potential and advantages of the two provinces. Therefore, he hope that this visit of the delegation would open new prospect for the two sides in the upcoming time. Especially, the opening of the Quang Ninh International Airport in 2018 may be a great bridge linking the two sides in terms of attracting tourists.
Mr. Vladimir Derefeev, in turn, highly appreciated Quang Ninh's advantages and achievements. He strongly affirmed to promote Quang Ninh's land, potential and people to Russian enterprises and locals so that they would have further information about Quang Ninnh to seek for investment opportunities and tourism purpose.
Irkutsk is the sixth largest city in Siberia, the capital of the Irkutsk region, Russia. It is located in Eastern Siberia, on the banks of the Angara River, at the confluence with the Irkut River (hence the name of the city), 66 km to the west of Lake Baikal, about 5,200 km to the east of Moscow.
