On April 3, in Ha Long city, the Organizing Board of the Ha Long-Quang Ninh Tourism Week 2012 has held a Press meeting to announce the program of the Tourism Week and receive the certificate recognizing Ha Long Bay as one of the natural wonder of the world. The meeting was attended by Vice-Chairwoman of QNPPC Vu Thi Thu Thuy, who is the Head of the Organizing Board of the Tourism Week, and over 80 reporters from domestic and international Press agencies.
At the meeting, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has announced the key activities during the tourism week. Accordingly, the Tourism week will take place from April 24 to May 2 at different areas, namely the center of Ha Long city, Bai Chay Tourism Complex, and Tuan Chau international resort. The main activities will include the Contest of the best MC on Ha Long III; gastronomy festival; beach-volleyball tournament; Trade and Tourism fair, ect.
Under the theme of “Quang Ninh combines the best”, Ha Long Carnival will be the highlight of the Tourism Week this year. As planned, it will take place at 20.00-23.00 on May 1 and broadcasted live on VTV1 and QTV channels. The Carnival is expected to attract the participation of over 3,800 professional and amateur actresses. Particularly, modern sound and light equipments will be used in this year carnival. Notably, this is the first tourism festival that Quang Ninh has entirely organized and undertaken staging and performance. Funding for the organization of this year festival is mostly mobilized from all economic sectors.
Within the framework of Ha Long-Quang Ninh Tourism Week 2012, a ceremony will be held for the New 7 Wonders organization to hand the official symbol with the name of Ha Long Bay to Quang Ninh province. The announcement ceremony will be also held in Ha Noi capital city.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice-Chairwoman of QNPPC Thuy has sincerely thanked media agencies for their collaboration with Quang Ninh province in propagating and boosting the image of Ha Long Bay in general and Quang Ninh tourism in particular. Thuy also affirmed that the Organizing Board will offer the best conditions for the reporters during the event.
