Party Secretariat delegation tours UK

A delegation from the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) headed by Le Hong Anh, Politburo member and permanent member of the CPV Secretariat paid a working visit to the UK from October 10-12.

Working with the Vietnam Embassy in the UK and Northern Ireland, Ambassador Nguyen Van Thao briefed Anh and his delegation on the Vietnam-UK relations and the outstanding achievements over the past more than 40 years since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1973 and upgraded their bilateral ties to a strategic partnership in 2010, as well as relation promotion measures in the future.

He also reported on the implementation of the Politburo’s Directive No.03 on following and studying President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example by launching practical activities to help students and expatriate community in the UK to actively get involved in the movement.

In observance of President Ho Chi Minh City’s birthday anniversary this year, the Embassy successfully set up a twin relationship between northern Nghe An province’s Vinh City and the UK Newhaven harbour town, where President Ho Chi Minh once lived and worked 100 years ago.
