Vietnam’s northern province of Quang Ninh greeted more than 4.6 million tourist arrivals in the first six months this year, a year-on-year rise of 9 percent, according to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Of these, foreign tourists accounted for more than 1.25 million, a decrease of 2 percent against the same period last year.
With the total tourist arrivals since early this year, the province earned a tourism turnover of VND2.5 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 14 percent.
The Van Don People’s Committee reported that the district welcomed 287,000 tourist arrivals during the Jan-June period, up 5 percent against one year previous. Tourism turnover reached VND150 billion.
