According to the statistics of the Inland Waterway Port Authority (under Quang Ninh Transport Department), during 2 weeks of free entry (from Jan. 23 to Feb. 5, 2012), Ha Long has received over 104,000 tourist arrivals.
Accordingly, about 7,400 tourist arrivals visit Ha Long per day on average. On the peak day, this number increases to more than 10,400 arrivals. It is reported that, in collaboration of Quang Ninh Transport Department and Ha Long Bay Management Department, security, safety and good services for visitors are all ensured.
After being named on the list of new 7 natural wonders of the world, this is the first time Quang Ninh province has offered the longest-ever free entry to everyone. Moreover, this is a significant action not only to thank all visitors who love and voted for Ha Long but also to boost the image and tourism of Ha Long Bay to the world.
