Entry to all sites at Ha Long Bay will be free of charge from April 28 to May 1, the chairman of Quang Ninh PPC Nguyen Van Doc said on April 5 at a meeting held to inspect preparations for the Ha Long Tourism Week 2012 and the special ceremony recognizing Ha Long Bay as a world natural wonder.
According to the report by the PPC Office, relevant departments and organizations have currently been in a rush to prepare for Ha Long Tourism Week 2012 slated for April 24 to May 2, 2012. The event comprises 13 culture, sport and tourism activities including trade fair, the contest of the best MC on Ha Long Bay, modern and folk games, cuisine festival, dance sport tournament, beach volley ball tournament, etc. in which the highlight is Carnival night to be held on May 1.
In addition, these departments also effectively mobilize donors to support the event.
As scheduled, the Ha Long Tourism Week 2012 will have 775 delegate guests from foreign countries, the central ministries and other provinces and cities, international art groups, etc. The event is also expected to attract over 50 thousand tourists to Quang Ninh province.
Addressing the meeting, the chairman Nguyen Van Doc urged the local departments to explore innovative organizing ways in which clearly show the sense of hospitality and solemnity.
Other tasks related to reception, security, traffic order and safety, urban renewal, etc. must be paid much attention, he added.
Especially, in order to represent the gratitude of the province to visitors across the country and international friends, who supported and voted for Ha Long Bay to become one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, Quang Ninh province will not collect visitor fees for Ha Long Bay during four days from April 28 to May 1, the Chairman said.
