Nghe An: Lotus Village Festival 2024 opens
The 2024 Lotus Village Festival opened on May 11 to celebrate President Ho Chi Minh’s 134th birth anniversary (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2024), with a wide range of activities being held.
Diverse cultural activities, including a singing competition and a culinary contest on dishes made from lotus flowers, as well as painting and photo exhibitions showcasing President Ho Chi Minh’s life and revolutionary career, are organised during the festival.
As the highlight of the event, two music galas on May 11 and May 19 feature many songs which illustrate the life and revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh.
In addition, on the occasion, local authorities made floral tributes in front of President Ho’s Monument at Ho Chi Minh Square, as well as offering incense at the Kim Lien relic site and Chung Son Temple in Kim Lien Commune of Nam Dan District – the hometown of the late President.
In addition, volleyball and traditional martial arts tournaments and a marathon gathering around 3,000 runners from across the country were organised.
