On July 5, delegates of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Council conducted the process of dismissal and election of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee (13th tenure) in the term 2016-2021.
At the meeting, the delegates discussed and decided to dismiss Mr. Nguyen Duc Long who had retired on May 1st, 2019 from the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. 100% of the delegates agreed with the above decision.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party’s Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, was elected as Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, 13th tenure, in the term 2016 – 2021, by a unanimous vote of all 71 council members.
Speaking at the meeting after being elected as the new chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, Mr Nguyen Van Thang hoped that he would receive the guidance as well as support from the Central Government, the Provincial Party’s Committee, departments, branches, agencies, localities, social and political organizations, media agencies, enterprise community, voters and locals in the province.
