Myanmar President visits Halong Bay

Within the framework of his visit to Vietnam to attend the UN Day of Vesak celebration, on May 13, Myanmar President Win Myint and his delegation arrived in Quang Ninh and took a tour of the world heritage site, Halong Bay.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Thang warmly welcomed the delegation.

At the reception, Vice chairman Nguyen Van Thang expressed his enthusiastic welcome to the president, his wife and the delegation. He sent them the best wishes for a successful trip to Vietnam as well.

The Vice chairman also briefly informed the president about Quang Ninh’s recent socio-economic development and Halong Bay’s outstanding geomorphological and geological values.

For his part, President Win Myint gave sincere thanks for Quang Ninh’s formal reception and showed his considerable pleasure at visiting Quang Ninh and Halong bay for the first time.

He wished Quang Ninh province continuous achievements in socio-economic development, especially in field of tourism.

After the reception, the president and his delegation took their trip around Halong bay.
