Vietnamese artists will join the Toyota Concert Tour 2012 through Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia to tighten ties among the three countries.
This is part of activities to mark the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties, the 35th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Treaty and the 45th celebration of the Vietnam-Cambodia diplomatic ties.
The concert will open in Vientiane on July 24 and then in Phnom Penh on July 28. It will reach the last two venues of Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in August.
Addressing a press briefing in Hanoi on July 10, Vice Director of the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO) Nguyen Tri Dung said the organising board has prepared separate programme for each venue.
At the concert in Vietnam, violinist Bui Cong Duy will perform pieces by Beethoven while in Laos and Cambodia, Vietnamese artist Trinh Thanh Binh will sing famous songs written by musicians Hoang Ha and Hoang Viet.
The proceeds collected via performances in Vietnam will be presented to 100 gifted music students.
