On March 12, General Ngo Xuan Lich, Minister of National Defense and the Central delegation visited Quang Ninh and had a working session with the provincial leaders.
Welcoming and working with the delegation were Secretary of the provincial Party’s Committee cum Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Nguyen Van Doc, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Long, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Nguyen Xuan Ky and heads of relevant provincial departments.
At the working session, Quang Ninh leaders presented a report on the province’s recent socio-economic development and the achievements in implementing security-defense tasks. Accordingly, in 2018, the province achieved positive, important, comprehensive results in all fields, completed and surpassed 11/11 major socio-economic indicators. The economy continued to develop with a high growth rate of 11.1%, the highest growth rate in the last 6 years. Quang Ninh was listed among five leading provinces and cities collecting high domestic revenues.
As a border province, Quang Ninh has also paid great attention to security-defense tasks.
Speaking at the meeting, General Ngo Xuan Lich lauded the province for its achievements over the past time in accomplishing socio-economic development and security-defense tasks; and becoming a model province in building a borderline of peace, friendship.
He also highlighted that the Ministry of National Defense would create the most favorable conditions for Quang Ninh to be at full strength for boosting socio-economic development and successfully carrying out its security-defense tasks.
Secretary of the provincial Party’s Committee cum Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Nguyen Van Doc confirmed that the province would continue paying much attention to the local armed forces, socio-economic development while ensuring security-defense, reinforcing the building of the provincial defensive area, creating favorable conditions for military businesses to fulfill their assigned tasks, and raising public awareness of protecting national sovereignty.
On the same day, the delegation visited the Van Don Interntional Airport and a number of key projects in Van Don district.
