Microsoft Vietnam, the Centre for Marine life Conservation and Community Development (MCD) in coordination with Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee (QNPPC), and other stakeholders officically launched the project “Enabling Boat” in Quang Ninh last week.
Sponsored by the Microsoft Vietnam with the total capital of over VND 5,6 bln, the project aims to support disadvantaged youth in the coastal area to get access to information and communication technologies (ICT), adapting to the digital era, improving their livelihood and increasing their awareness of marine conservation.
Under this project, 200 young people, 150 officials and teachers who are in charge of youth activities, as well as other 50,000 members from local community will be trained to be provided with knowledge and skills related to environmental protection, marine conservation and climate change adaptation. They will also have a chance to participate in training courses on ICT and basic computer science.
Launching this project, Microsoft Vietnam wishes to call for support and involvement of the non-governmental organizations, enterprises and local partners in organizing activities to raise the local youth's awareness and capabilities in accessing ICT, aiming at creating a better future for the children and youth in the coastal areas.
