On June 16, Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Council had a meeting regarding the project proposal of Industrial Production Complex in the south of Luc Lam River in Hai Hoa Ward, Mong Cai City. The complex invested by Vinhomes Industrial Zone Joint Stock Company produces car spare parts for Vinfast’s automobile assembly plants, domestic businesses, and exports to ASEAN market as well as the world market.
According the proposal, the first phase of the project, from 2020-2022, focuses on building production lines of car components and spare parts with an estimated capacity of 500,000 sets a year. The 2nd phase, from 2022-2025, the plant will be expanded and the capacity will be increased to 1 million sets a year. Quang Ninh’s Chairman, Nguyen Van Thang, emphasized that this high-tech project is in line with the province’s development orientation and would greatlycontribute to state budget collection. He asked the economic zone management board to closely co-ordinate with the investor to complete dossiers to submit to Provincial Standing Pary’s Committee for consideration.
