The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just issued Decision No. 3013/QD-BVHTTDL dated August 30, 2019 recognizing Mao Khe Coal Mine Historical Relic (in Mao Khe ward, Dong Trieu town) as the national relic site.
Accordingly, the relic includes Mechanical Factory; Non Dong Pagoda; and the Location marking the establishment of the first Party Cell in Quang Ninh Mining Area. Mao Khe Coal Mine Historical Site was not only the place marking the activities of the patriot Nguyen Van Cu but also where the first Party Cell in Quang Ninh Mining Area was established.
Over the past time, these three sites have been damaged. In 2015, the project on restoration and embellishment of Mao Khe Coal Mine Historical Relic Site kicked start. Currently, Mao Khe Coal Mine Historical Relic is one of the 14 tourism sites in Dong Trieu Town.
In 2017, the People’s Committee of Dong Trieu Town inaugurated the Memorial House of the first Communist Party Cell of Quang Ninh Mining Area.
