Management and inspection on Halong Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay need to be enhanced

Secretary of Quang Ninh provincial Party’s Committee Nguyen Van Doc urged Ha Long, Cam Pha cities and Van Don district as well as other relevant provincial departments and sectors to enhance management and inspection activities in Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay during his site survey trip on Aug. 10.

Accordingly, the leader of Quang Ninh’s Party focused on a number of issues, namely: operation of tourist boats, aquatic resources exploitation, construction works on the islands, environmental protection, etc. He then specifically requested local authorities to strictly controlled the construction works on the islands; all the projects and construction works on these areas must be complied with the plannings and permitted and strictly inspected by the functional authorities.

Emphasizing on the target to develop Quang Ninh into a friendly and attractive destination, Secretary Nguyen Van Doc asked the functional athorities to not only closely manage tourism activities but also timely deal with all the problems.

The Halong Bay Management Board was also requested to conserve and efectively promote the values of the bay; intensifying collecting and treating waste in order to ensure a clean environment of Halong bay.

Related to exploitation of the aquatic resources, the Secretary directed these localities and other relevant sectors to punish all illegal cases.
