On Jan. 15, in Ha Long city, Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee Pham Minh Chinh received and chaired a meeting with a delegation of the Korea Legislation Research Institute (hereby KLRI) led by Mr. Hoon Jaung, President of the KLRI.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Pham Minh Chinh stressed that Quang Ninh is reasearching to establish the Van Don special administrative and economic zone with special and competitive incentives, and modern management mechanisms with the purpose of developing Van Don district into a dynamic economic zone.
Mr. Hoon Jaung and his colleagues have discussed and shared Korean experience in developing free economic zones. For instance: it is very important to have strong support from the central government in financial arrangement for infrastructure development; it is necessary to provide the investors with tax incentives, convenient investment procedures; enhancing the competitiveness of the zone by introducing attractive industries and sectors.
Chinh highly appreciated the experiences shared by the delegation and hope that Quang Ninh would receive more experiences from the KLRI in drawing policies to attract and promote the economic zones in the province through the strong cooperation between the two sides.
