On Sept 25, in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Department of Information and Communications worked with a survey team of the Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) on promoting digital government, e-government, current situations and information technology development policies of Quang Ninh.
At the working session, representatives from Quang Ninh Department of Information and Communications introduced to the delegation an overview of provincial socio-economic situation; telecommunication and information technology infrastructure. Currently, the province has more than 2 million subscribers with the mobile coverage of 95% of the residential area. Telecommunications revenue in the first 6 months of 2019 reached over 1.300 bil.VND. Regarding e-government and Smart City infrastructure, after 6 years of implementation, the province has basically completed the construction of the core infrastructure for the e-government system.
Highly apprasing Quang Ninh’s experiences as well as the implementation of e-government and smart city system, the KISDI survey team hoped that they would have more opportunities to cooperate with Quang Ninh Department of Information and Communications in particular and Quang Ninh Province in general in the field of information technology. The Korean side is willing to support Quang Ninh in information exchange, human resource training and telecomunication infrastructure development as well.
