According to Mr. Trinh Dang Thanh- Deputy Head of Quang Ninh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the number of Japanese tourist arrival to Quang Ninh accounts for a large proportition of international tourist arrival to the province.
From 2007 to 2012, Japanese tourists is always on the top ten international visitors market in Quang Ninh, seeing a year-on-year increase of the number of Japanese tourists to Quang Ninh. As reported, Quang Ninh received 20,000 tourist arrivals in 2007 while in 2012 this number is 56,000 . This is a good sign for Quang Ninh tourism.
It is said that 2013 is regarded as the year of Japanese Cooperation. Accordingly, Quang Ninh has conducted a wide range of promotion activities boosting the friendship and cooperation tie between the province and organizations as well as cities and provinces of Japan, particularly in terms of cultural exchange and tourism development.
