Phuong Nam early ripening litchi is Uong Bi City’s valuable OCOP product with a total annual turnover of more than 50 bil.VND. Phuong Nam locals are expected to early harvest litchi fruits within next 1.5 to 2 months. To increase the value, the city continues to implement the phase 2 of Phuong Nam early ripening litchi production project in line with the VietGap process.
There are nearly 500ha under early ripening litchi cutlivation of 2,000 households in Phuong Nam Ward. Of which, 372 ha are planned for concentrated litchi cultivation area. In 2018-2019, the city planted 150 ha under litchi cutlivation in line with the VietGap process. This year, it continues to expand 140 ha associated with good control of the output quality. Thanks to effective application of the VietGap process, households proactively control litchi flower blossom in stages, thus avoiding harvesting at one time. This year, Phuong Nam early ripening litchi is currently developing very well.
