Van Don is a potential locality with great advantages for high quality eco-tourism and leisure tourism development. In order to attract an increasing number of tourists to the district, especially after the Van Don International Airport was put into operation, a series of accommodation facilities have been upgraded; various kinds of hi-end entertainment and tourism services have been offered in an effort to better serve those coming to Van Don.
As reported, in 2018, the number of tourist arrivals to Van Don was 1.1 million, an increase of 9.5% compared to the previous year. However, the low quality of accommodation facilities and services in Van Don that have not satisfied yet the increasing demands of touristsis one of the limitations.
With its working theme of “Improving the quality and effeciency of services”, Van Don targets to effectively implement the province’s topic of 2019 by gradually improving its infrastructure system to allure not only domestic but also international visitors to Van Don.
Currently, there are 168 accommodation facilities with 1,946 rooms in Van Don district. Of which, one 3-star hotel, with 50 rooms; seven 2-star hotels with 150 rooms; fifteen 1-star hotels with 286 rooms; To implement the province’s working theme of the year, owners of these hotels have tried their best to serve tourists with the best services.
In addition, the owners of accommodation establishments and restaurants in the communes of Quan Lan, Minh Chau and Ngoc Vung islands have expanded their investments in upgrading rooms and offered community-based tourism services, cultural tourism, aiming at providing tourist with special experiences.
Currently, in Van Don district, not only a wide range of restaurants and hotels which officially operated in this summer, but also many hi-class resorts and hotels are being built in accordance with international standards by CEO Group, Viglacera Group, etc…
The number of tourists, especially international visitors and the ones from the Southern provinces is predicted to increase in the coming years. This will be a good opportunity for Van Don to affirm its position in Vietnam and in the world’s tourism map.
