As reported, on Sept 27th, New7Wonders founder – Mr. Bernard Weber paid a visit to Ha Long Bay. On this occasion, Quang Ninh newspapers reporter has briefly interviewed him regarding the voting campaign.
+ We learnt that this is the first time you have traveled to Quang Ninh. What is your impression of Ha Long Bay?
_ I explored Ha Long Bay by helicopter. Looking down from the sky, Ha Long Bay looks unique with many unspoiled islands emerging from the water. It is spectacular as mountains, rock islands and water blended together, creating a magnificient beauty of the Bay. I am really impressed of this landscape’s beauty. I can say that Ha Long bay is one of the most beautiful landscapes I have ever seen.
+There are only less than 50 days left till the end of the voting campaign. What is your opinion about the position of Ha Long Bay in this finale? Is there any chance for Ha Long Bay to be one of the winners?
_ Now, I can not say anything but I think Ha Long Bay has many chances as a lot of people in all over the world, especially young people who love the Bay very much are voting for it. Especially the media is currently actively mobilizing in the world to vote for Ha Long Bay.
+ In this voting campaign, if Ha Long Bay becomes one of the new seven natural wonders of the world, what benefit will Ha Long gain from this designation?
_ As you may know, this new7wonders campaign has been launched all over the world under various methods of voting. It attracted the participation of over 400 landscapes. Only by that way, the campaign has already contributed to boost the image of Ha Long – Quang Ninhto the world. In its annual activities, the New7Wonders also has a number of programs to advertise and support the wondersin all countries. And when it is promoted, Ha Long Bay will have more opportunities to broadcast its image to friends around the world, attracting many tourists to the site.
+ As I know, the New7wonders has reputation in classifying landscapes. Could you please tell me, how do the sites that have been ranked develop?
_ Right, New7wonders is very prestigious in ranking the landscapes. Since 1999, New7wonders has launched the campaign to vote for 7 man-made wonders of the world on the Internet. Through that campaign, many landscapes have received over 100 million votes from all over the world. This demonstrated the significance and influence of the campaign. The 7 man-made wonders of the world that have been recognized in the previous campaign are developing very well and attracting many tourists to the sites, such as: Great Wall of China, Colosseum of Italy...
