A national paragliding festival will take place within 5 days, from May 15-20, at Son Duong commune in Hoanh Bo district, Quang Ninh province, as part of the Ha Long - Quang Ninh Tourism Week 2019.
The event, co-organised by the Quang Ninh Paragliding Club and Hoanh Bo District People's Committee, is expected to attract the participation of 100 paragliders from 10 clubs nationwide.
This is the third time that the national paragliding festival has been organized in Hoanh Bo district - a suitable area for paragliding. The festival is an opportunity for paragliders to exchange experiences and learn from each other, aiming at developing the paragliding community in Vietnam. The event is expected to offer visitors interesting experiences to view Hoanh Bo's magnificient natural scenery from above. It also helps to promote local tourism and attract more investors in developing tourism projects.
With a diverse terrain of mountains, forests and deltas, and different ethnic minority groups, Hoanh Bo is ideal for various tourism products, such as eco- tourism, adventure sports, trekking, and climbing, etc.
Popular sites include Man Mountain, the Dao Thanh Y ethnic minority people’s cultural reserve, the Dong Son and Ky Thuong communes eco-tourism systems, highlighted by natural reserves, pagodas and temples, orchid farms, fruit orchards, wine making villages, and markets for agricultural products.
Several events are also scheduled to be organized in Hoanh Bo during the Tourism Week 2019, such as spring flower festival, festival of the Dao Thanh Y ethnic minority group, temple festivals, etc.
