Hoa Phat Dung Quat container port welcomes first ship
On August 21, a Hong Kong (China)-flagged ship moored at the newly inaugurated berth No.6 of Hoa Phat Dung Quat Container Terminal in the Dung Quat Economic Zone, Binh Son District, Quang Ngai Province, becoming the first vessel to dock at the port.
The Hoa Phat Container Terminal is designed as an international seaport serving the general demand for cargo handling and logistics services in the Dung Quat Economic Zone and surrounding areas.
With a total investment of over 3.7 trillion VND, the project includes three berths, No. 6, 7, and 8, which have a combined annual cargo handling capacity of 6 million tonnes per year and can receive ships with a load capacity of up to 50,000 DWT.
Of which, the berth No. 6 began operations on August 20, 2023, with a cargo handling capacity of 2 million tons per year, marking an important milestone for the project.
In the near future, the Hoa Phat Dung Quat Container Terminal is expected to receive more commercial ships, thus meeting the production and business demand of the Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Production Complex as well as businesses operating in the Dung Quat Economic Zone and neighbouring areas.
