Ha Long Sakura Festival 2015 opens

The Ha Long Sakura festival 2015 entitled “Peace – Prosperity – Cooperation and Development” took place yesterday, April 3rd, in Ha Long City.

A diverse range of cultural activities, including exhibitions featuring culture, tourism and cuisine from Vietnam and Japan, film screenings, workshops on health care, education and the environment, and art performances will be held during the festival. As many as 500 cherry blossom branches from Japan were showcased at the festival.

On this occasion, 12 children from the Northeast of Japan who suffered from the earthquake and tsunami of four years ago presented Sakura trees to children in Quang Ninh province, showing their gratitude to the Vietnamese people for their support.

The festival's opening ceremony entertain local audiences and visitors with traditional cultural and art performances by artists from both nations.

This is the third time the Ha Long Sakura festival has held in Quang Ninh, and is one part of the 2015 Ha Long- Quang Ninh Tourism Week.
