On Dec. 26, the Ha Long International Passenger Port welcomed the two cruise ships bringing nearly 9,000 passengers and crew members to Ha Long.
The Celebrity Millennium (under the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines) brought 2,327 passengers and 967 crew members while the World Dream (under the Dream Cruise) arrived in Ha Long with 3,336 passengers and 1,933 crew members.
As reported, since Nov. 27, the Ha Long International Passenger Port has received 8 cruise ships routes and nearly 25,000 passengers and crew members.
This is the first time that the port has received at the same time two cruise ships to Ha Long Bay world heritage site. As planned, these two cruise ships will leave Ha Long on Dec 27.
The Ha Long International Passengers Port was invested in form of Public and Private Partnership (PPP) between Quang Ninh province and Sun Group. Located on the Cua Luc river, the port is designed to be able to receive at the same time two large passenger ships with capacity of up to 8,400 passengers and crew members.
The operation of the Ha Long International Passenger Port and the regular arrival of the international cruiseships to Ha Long helps to boost Quang Ninh tourism and target the goal of becoming a province with economic structure of services and industry by 2020. Ha Long is potential to become a famous world class tourism destination attracting tourists from all over the world.
