In order to achieve the goal of becoming a world-class tourism-service center, Ha Long City has paid special attention to tourism development and forming new and highly competitive tourism products. In which, resort tourism is one of the top priorities.
In recent years, Ha Long City has shown its spectacular breakthroughs in not only solving infrastructure problems, especially transport infrastructure, but also developing hi-end tourism products to become an attractive destination for leisure and entertainment.
A wide range of tourism and resort real estate projects which have been invested in Ha Long city by the leading investors over the years have greatly contributed to creating a new look of the heritage city and help Ha Long to become a magnet for domestic and foreign tourists. One of the highlight was the Vinpearl Ha Long Bay Resort, the largest 5-star beach resort, which was opened in 2015. With its beautiful scenery and high quality services, Vinpearl Ha Long Bay Resort is now an attractive tourism spot in Ha Long city.
Besides Vinpearl Ha Long Bay Resort, the FLC Ha Long complex which went into operation in late 2018, is currently in the list of the must-visit hi-class attractions in Ha Long city.
Meanwhile, the Tuan Chau International Entertainment complex, a familiar address for many tourists, has recently been upgraded to become more attrative with new hi-end resorts and entertaiment components. In addition, visitors also find other world-class tourism resorts based in the city, such as: Sun Premier Village Halong Bay, Sun World Halong Complex, and many 5-star hotels.
With the emergence of more and more unique entertainment and leisure products, the Ha Long heritage city is showing its rapid growth over the past years. Ha Long city nowadays is not only well-known for its spectacular natural sceneries but also reminded as a tourism destination with a variety of resorts and entertainment activities, alluring a large amount of visitors every year. In 2018, the city received 9.56 million tourist arrivals, an increase of 25% compared to 2017, 50% compared to 2016 and 72% compared to 2015. Of which, the number of international arrivals to Ha Long city reached 3.63 million, representing an increase of 11.6% over the same period in 2017, 29.6% compared to 2016, and 51% over the year of 2015. Particularly, in only the first 4 months of 2019, Ha Long city greeted 3.2 million visitor arrivals, seeing 8% over the same period last year.
However, in order to achieve the goal of becoming a world-class tourism-service center, Ha Long must focus on developing tourism sector with more robust measures, forming new and highly competitive tourism products to prolong the tourists’ stay in the city and enhance tourism yield.
According to Ha Long city’s leader, Ha Long has a shortage of hi-quality tourism resorts. With its potential for tourism development, Ha Long has been in need of the world-class tourism infrastructure. Therefore, in the upcoming time, the city puts the development of tourism resort on the top priority and call for the domestic and foreign leading investors to the city, in an attempt to offer the tourists with the best services and develop the city into a hi-class paradise of leisure. This would be very important driver for Ha Long to reach the goal of becoming a world-class tourism city.
