According to the Bai Chay Passenger Tourism Port, more than 4 thousand travelers toured Ha Long Bay on the first day of the New Year.
On the first day of 2013, most of the tourists were from China, Korea, Japan, etc. and they were the visitors who "broke ground " the world heritage site’s tourism.
About 330 tourism ships departed from the port within the day, bringing tourists to many attractions in Ha Long Bay.
Ha Long city has been chosen as a favorable destination for tourists on New Year occasion. Most of the big hotels in Ha Long city reached the capacity of over 80 percent. Joyous celebrations were held at these hotels to ring in 2013 with various cultural performances and attracted lots of tourists.
Quang Ninh’s tourism industry is trying to improve the quality of services, diversify products, ensure visitor safety, and keep service prices stable.
In 2012, the province received more than 7 million tourists, representing a year-on-year increase of 5.3 percent, of which 2.4 million tourists were foreigners. Its revenue reached VND4.3 trillion, showing a 21 percent increase over the previous year./.
