Voting campaign for the new seven natural wonders of the world has been launched by NewOpenWorld organization on the Internet since August, 2007. After long wait of the voting result, from today (Sept, 26) to the official declaration date (Nov, 11), there are only less than 50 days left.
¾ of the journey has been through, the presence of Ha Long Bay in this finale has proved not only Vietnam’s effort but also the international community’s support. Ha Long Bay has many times been on top of many other beautiful landscapes. This reconfirmed charming beauty of the bay with outstanding universal values recognized by UNESCO.
In this crucial stage, Ha Long Bay needs more votes to be one of the new seven natural wonders of the world. Repeatedly in recent days, many programs to vote for the bay have been organized inside the country and in overseas. For instance, “the campaign of 50 days and nights voting for Ha Long Bay” has been recently launched by the Quang Ninh Youth; On the occasion of the Vietnam’s National Day, the Vietnam Embassy in Italy has mobilized guests and Italian friends as well as other countries to vote for Ha Long Bay. In the 11th EATOF held in Cebu, Philippines, the delegation from Quang Ninh has also invited international friends to vote for the Bay.
With the aim of gaining at least 60 million votes, including many international ones, Ha Long Bay needs more votes, especially in this sprint stage. Along with active involvement of Ministries and sectors at the central level, Quang Ninh citizens should be proud of and responsible for the Bay. Also, each departments, units and organizations in the province should more actively participate in this campaign with specific activities.
“If you haven’t visited Ha Long Bay, you would not have been to Vietnam”. This message has become born in mind of the foreign visitors for a long time. Put our hands together, each of us please multiply your love for Ha Long by showing your own vote for this property.
