In recent years, Quang Ninh has become one of the leading tourism centers in Vietnam. Quang Ninh is now not only an attractive destination for holidaymakers in summer but also a “paradise” for lovers of shopping and entertainment in winter, thanks to a range of attractive services.
As reported, in the first six months of 2019, Quang Ninh witnessed strong growth in tourism, receiving over 8.5 million tourist arrivals, a year-on-year rise of 14%, including 2.8 million of foreign arrivals, up 14%.
For international holidaymakers, Quang Ninh's Ha Long is also their most-wanted destination in winter, when they could have a chance to celebrate Christmas festival and welcome New Year in the city of heritage. It will be an amazing experience for them to sip a cup of hot coffee or tea while sitting on the boat’s decker feeling the coldness of winter.
According to the Quang Ninh Tourism Department, during the New Year holiday (from December 29, 2018 to January 1, 2019), Quang Ninh greeted about 200,000 tourist arrivals, an increase of 30 percent over the same period of 2018. The number of international visitors to visit and stay overnight sharply increased sharply, accounting for more than half of the total number of visitors, reaching over 135,000 arrivals, an increase of about 25% over the same period last year. In particular, the number of the ones visiting Ha Long Bay was 46,869.
The end of the year is also the time when visitors could afford services of entertainment and shopping. In 2018, the average expenditure of international tourists in Quang Ninh was estimated at 104 USD/day/person. This figure is approximately equal to the national average of 96 USD, and considered to increase in the future.
