Francophone Parliamentary Assembly's delegation visits Halong Bay

On Feb. 28, a delegation of the Francophone Parliamentary Assembly visited Halong Bay on the occasion of the meetings of the Francophone Parliamentary Assembly (APF) Women’s Parliamentary Network and the APF Education, Communication and Cultural Affairs Committee which was held from Feb. 26-28 in Hanoi city.

At the reception, Quang Ninh’s Vice Chairman Bui Van Khang expressed his happiness to welcome the French guests to the Halong Bay World Natural Heritage Site. He then introduced to the delegation a snap shot of Quang Ninh's potential and advantages for socio-economic development; strategies to attract investments into the province, as well as outstanding values of the bay.

“Quang Ninh in particualr and Vietnam in general appreciates the APF’s role in international activities through initiating and implementing inter-parliamentary cooperation programmes; strengthening friendship and solidarity between parliaments; and contributing to the growing development of parliamentary diplomatic activities to improve the position and voice of parliamentarians in regional and international issues”, he said.

He hoped that the meetings of the APF Women’s Parliamentary Network and the APF Education, Communication and Cultural Affairs Committee will help promote the relationship and cooperation tie of the APF’s members.

The APF’s representative, in turn, sincerely thanked Quang Ninh's leader for his warm reception, and expressed his impression with Quang Ninh’s achievements in its socio-economic development during the innovation course.
