At about 6.30 a.m on Tuesday (Jan. 10), a cruise ship carrying 14 foreign tourists went on fire while it was returning from a night trip. Rescue workers tried their best to bring the 14 foreign tourists, one tourist guide and 6 crew members before the flame spreads and the ship sank.

Quang Ninh's Vice Chairman Vu Van Dien quickly directed the rescue police to investigate the incident, and fire safety for cruise ships staying over night on the Bay. He also encouraged the tourists who suffered from the accident. As reported, the Anh Duong cruise ship has just been temporarilly banned from its operation right after the blaze.
Quang Ninh received 8.3 million visitors last year, up 7 percent from 2015, according to official data. Of which, there were 3.5 million foreigners and most of them, if not all, probably visited Ha Long Bay.
