Diverse and attractive tourist products in Uong Bi

Uong Bi City was defined to become one of the four key tourism, services centers in Quang Ninh, focusing on historical, cultural and spiritual tourism.

In order to develop tourism professionally and make it a spearhead industry with high proportion in the city’s economic structure, in the past time, the party committee and local government have undertaken breakthrough measures such as investing synchronously in traffic and information infrastructure, boosting tourism projects, preserving existing typical tourism products and introducing new ones.

The city directs businesses to continuously improve their services, stay friendly and hospitable; open to list prices clearly. Accommodation establishments were counted and classified in accordance with regulations of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. To date, 112 accommodation establishments in Uong Bi have been ranked, of which Legacy Yen Tu is the only one to win the 5-star quality recognition. 

After renovation, Yen Trung Lake attracts more and more tourists.

Along with that, the city disbursed its budget and mobilized private capitals to embellish playgrounds, public places such as the artistic fountain in the city’s downtown which covers on an area of 4,600m2; enlarge the Feb 25 Square with a total investment of nearly 40 bill VND; construct 18-storey commerce, culture and sports center; 10,000-m2 Vincom+ Uong Bi supermarket. 

Nguyen Thi Mai, a tourist from Thuan Thanh District, Bac Ninh Province says : “Our family visits Uong Bi every year. Along with spiritual sites, we love Yen Trung Lake, Lung Xanh waterfall and trying local special food. We are satisfied with guaranteed services, reasonable prices and friendly people. Surely! We will re-visit this place and suggest our friends”.

Eco-tourism is a focus in Uong Bi City.

In order to diversify tourism types to attract tourists, Uong Bi Office of Culture and Information proposed a plan for preservation of Dao people’s cultural identities in Thuong Yen Cong Commune to the city’s people’s committee.
