Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee has issued Decision No. 1614/QĐ-UBND approving the detailed plan for provincial-level Co To and Tran Island’s Marine Conservation Area.
Accordingly, the conservation area is divided into 2 sub-areas, namely Co To and Tran Island, with total planned area of more than 18,414 ha.
The main objective is to preserve, revive, and promote biodiversity values, especially specific natural ecosystem; endangered and rare species and genetic resources; the natural beauty of Co To and Tran Island for scientific research, education, and tourism.
