A delegation of the Ministry of National Defense, led by Senior Lieutenant General Tran Don, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Defense, paid a working visit to Quang Ninh province last week. Quang Ninh Provincial Party's Secretary Nguyen Van Doc received the delegation.
At the working session, Secretary Nguyen Van Doc briefed the delegation an introduction of Quang Ninh's socio-economic development, and its achievements in the implementation of security and defense tasks. Especially, over the past years, the province has paid much attention to the security and defense and created favorable conditions for military units stationed in the province to fulfill their assigned missions.
Speaking at the meeting, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Don highlighted Quang Ninh's recent achievements in accomplishing socio-economic development, security and defense tasks, and ensuring social welfare.
The General asked Quang Ninh to continue to pay more attention to the social welfare. He also asked Quang Ninh's leaders to work with the govermental ministries and sectors to effectively manage and explore miniral resources, especially coal resource. There is a need to balance economic development and environmental protection to foster tourism development. .
Particularly, he requested the province to continue to provide financial resource to support military uinits based in the province to ensure security and defense; calling on enterprises to support facilities for the military units.
Earlier, the delegation visited and worked with some of military units within Quang Ninh.
