Dam Ha district has a lot of potential and strengths of natural landscapes, historical relics and community cultural identities which are considered as its own advantages to attract investment especially in tourism to create a driving force for socio-economic development.
Located in the center of the eastern region of Quang Ninh province, Dam Ha district is bestowed with sea, forests and abundant natural and cultural tourism resouces, capable of developing many types of tourism. The District is quite well-known for beautiful landscapes, such as Bach Van Waterfall, Historical – archeological – scenic site of Hua Mountain, Dam Ha Dong Reservoir, Da Dung Island, Cuong Mountain etc. Many cultural activities are being preserved and promoted by the district, such as Dam Ha Communal House Festival, San Co Singing, Then Singing, dual love song singing etc. Dam Ha district’s cuisine culture and OCOP products are also quite diverse.
Identifying the importance of tourism for local socio – economic development, in recent years, the district has implemented new steps and paid special attention to touirsm development. The district has built and carried out the project “ Developing Dam Ha District’s tourism untill 2020, with a vision towards 2030”; “ Plan for Dam Ha Disitrict’s tourism development in 2019”; the project on preserving and promoting values of the historical – archeological – scenic site of Hua Mountain in Dai Binh commune. The Resolution on Dam Ha District’s tourism development untill 2025, with a vision towards 2030 indicated its potential as well as limitations for tourism development and proposed goals, opinions and solutions for tourism development. The district selected the message themed “ Dam Ha – the land of love” to promote and popularize tourism brand.
The district has made a dossier to apply for recognition of 3 tourist sites including the archeological - historical – scenic site of Hua mountain (Dai Binh commune); Mieu Sau Relic (Duc Yen commune); Bach Van Waterfall ecotourism site (Quang An commune). Along with the support of Quang Ninh province and enterprises, the district has mobilized all resources to improve infrastructure serving the development of tourism, trade and unique products.
Thanks to long-term strategic planning and orientation on tourism development and efforts in image promotion, hopefully, in the coming years, Dam Ha tourism will turn to a new page and effectively promote its inherent advantages.
