On Dec. 21, at the Quang Ninh Expo and Fair Center (Ha Long city), Quang Ninh Department of Culture and Sports and the Central Committee of Vietnam Craft Villages Association jointly held the opening ceremony of the 2017 Culture Festival of Ethnic Minority Groups and exhibition displaying products of craft villages in the North of Vietnam, with the aim of welcoming the New Year and the 2018 National Tourism year.
With the attendance of nearly 500 non-professional actors and actresses within Quang Ninh, the Culture festival of Ethnic Minority Groups presented the delegates as well as visitors and locals various performances that show traditional dresses and cultural features of cuisine of not only Quang Ninh but also other provinces in northern parts of Vietnam.
Meanwhile, the exhibition displays unique products from 60 villages of 12 provinces and cities, including Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Bac Giang, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Ha Nam, Vinh Phuc, Bac Ninh Quang Ngai and Nghe An. Especially, it drew the attendance of many international and domestic well-known tradional craft villages in Vietnam such as: Bat Trang, and Chu Dau pottery, Quat Dong hand-embroidered pictures, Van Phuc silk, and a large amount of Quang Ninh’s OCOP products.
The 4-day festival and exhibition is a good occasion to bolster the solidarity among the ethnic minority groups of Quang Ninh. They also help preseve and promote traditional cultural values, and foster socio-economic developemnt.
This is also a chance for craftmen and producers of both Quang Ninh and other provinces to exchange and learn experiences from each other in production and bussiness activities.
