With the theme of “Tien Yen - Connecting Colors of Ethnic Minority Groups in Quang Ninh’s Northeastern Region", the Culture and Sports Week of the Ethnic Minority Groups in Quang Ninh’s Northeastern Region which kicked off last week in Tien Yen district, (Quang Ninh province), wrapped up on Aug. 6.
With a wide range of events including folk music festival, ethic traditional costume shows, modern dance and sport dance performances as well as traditional folk sport competitions, the Culture and Sports week drew not only the participation of the localities within Quang Ninh but also the neighbouring districts from other provinces in the Northeastern Vietnam, namely Dinh Lap, Loc Binh, Cao Loc, Lang Son city (Lang Son province), and Yen The, Son Dong (Bac Giang province).
During the week, many of Quang Ninh's OCOP products were displayed and sold to the locals and visitors; an exhibition was opened to showcase the paintings, logos and photographs of Quang Ninh and a booth introducing tourist attractions in Tien Yen.
One of the highlight of the Week was the investment promotion and planning announcement conference with the particiption of over 500 delegates including businesses, lecturers, and economic experts. At the conference, 8 investment projects and MoU were signed, of which 2 projects were granted with investment certificates.
The success of the Week not only contributes to preserve the cultural values, introducing Tien Yen's potential and strengths to visitors and investors, and developing a new attractive tourism product of the district, but also helps tighten the solidarity spirit among the ethnic groups in the Northeastern Region.
As planned, the Culture and Sports Week will be annually held.
