Director of Van Don International Airport, Pham Ngoc Sau, said that the airport was chosen because of its modern and synchronous facilities and equipments meeting safety requirement when transporting passengers without affecting the airport’s overall operation.

According to the process of receiving returnees from disease-hit areas at Van Don International Airport, all travelers have to undergo body temperature scanning with automatic alarm system after performing international aviation procedures. Their body temperature is checked again by handy scanner used by staff of International Medical Quarantine Center (under the Provincial Department of Health). After that, passengers fill out medical information form. They are then instructed to move to an isolated area via a special entrance, waiting for classification to avoid cross-infection.

It also makes response and isolation plans in case of discovering infected cases. Besides, it enhances propaganda activities via speakers to raise passengers and staff’s sense of battle against the disease.
