Currently, Co To district attaches great importance to developing sustainable and friendly tourism. Since the beginning of 2019, the District has undertaken many robust measures to ensure environmental sanitation, limiting the use of plastic bags and regularly launching "Green-Sunday" campaigns to clean up the environment of the island.

It is evident that the development of tourism has made Co To closer to the mainland. It attracts thousands of visitor arrivals each year. As reported, as of the end of August 2019, the number of tourist arrivals to Co To island district was 267,300, a year-on-year rise of 23.1%, of which the amount of international arrivals was 2,475. Revenue from tourism reached nearly VND 649 billion, an increase of 35.2% over the same period last year, contributing to improving and raising the incomes and quality of the local people's life.
More importantly, what makes Co To more attractive to tourists is the honesty, hospitality and friendliness of the local people, which helps Co To to affirm its position and become more reputive in the Vietnam tourism map.
