Co To develops high-quality tourism services

The island of Co To has targeted to lure more tourists by improving the quality of tourism services, according to the district’s tourism development strategy.

A variety of tourism infrastructure such as accommodation, restaurants and creational areas have been upgraded or newly built since the island was connected to the national grid in 2013. So far, Co to has had 280 acommodations with 2,779 rooms which can meet the demand of 9,500 tourists, 41 restaurants, 34 shops and 21 leisure areas.

At present, it only takes travellers over one hour to arrive at Co To by high-speed ships. There are 29 modern ships with the capacity of 3,100 passengers available at the port.

After reaching the island, a range of vehicles including 14 cars, 210 electric cars, 300 electric bicycles and 500 motorbikes are also availbale for travellers to go everywhere on the island. Tourists can also experience some boat journeys to several famous attractions, such as Bac Van - Little Co To, Co To - Thanh Lan.

The interior transport system on the island has been also upgraded and the environment has been still fully preserved, which makes nature-lover feel really passionate when visiting this charming island.

The tourism revenue reached VN 498 billion in 2018 and VND 331 billion in the first 6 months of this year. The average spending of tourists to Co To raised from US$95 in 2018 to US$106/person at present.

Co To has effectively implemented the code of conduct for individuals and organizations living and working in the district. Under the code, Co To expects locals, tourists and organizations to have behaviours that conform to norms such as polite attitude and behaviour in public areas, respect for the rights of others, environmental protection, protection of cultural relics, etc.

The district also plans to take a series of measures to sustainably develop its tourism sector in the coming time.
