On June 19, in Ha Long city, a ceremony was solemnly held to celebrate the 87th anniversary of Vietnam Press Revolution Day 21-6 ( 1925-2013) and reward the Provincial Press Awards to the excellent journalists. Mr. Nguyen Duc Long, Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People Council (QNPPC) and leaders of other relevant provincial departments have attended the ceremony.
Mr. Tran Manh Hung, Chairman of the Provincial Press Association has reported that Quang Ninh Press has recently made great progress, both in quantity and quality. Reporters, in one hand, have promptly provided update information of the multi-faced life. In the other hand, they exposed and crisized the negative issues existed in the society, contributing to the implementation of political, social, economic duties of not only the province but also the country.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of QNPPC Long has acknowledged and highly appreciated achievements that Quang Ninh Newspaper has made in recent years as well as its contributions to the socio-economic development of the province. He emphasized that the Newspaper has recently made renovations and outstanding development in order to promptly provide up-date information of the State, Party and province’s guidelines and policies to all the working-class people. Especially, information of the major projects has been propagated to the people who are living within the province and even in other localities, attracting investments into Quang Ninh.
On this occasion, the Provincial Press Association has granted commemorative medals for the Vietnam Press Career to 5 members of the Association, and certificate merits to 5 individuals who have excellent achievements during their work. 53 reporters and groups of reporters were also rewarded with the Provincial Press Awards 2012.
