Cap Tien temple festival kicks off

On Feb. 10 (or the 6th day of the Lunar New Year), the Cap Tien temple festival officially commenced at Dong Xa commune in Van Don district with the participation of local government representatives and lots of local people and tourists.

Cap Tien Temple is a cultural and religious place built to worship the gods, ancestors, and commemorate those who made a great contribution to the country. In 2006, the temple was designated as a provincial architectural and landscape relic by the Provincial People’s Committee.

The site managed by the commune of Dong Xa was recognized as a special national historical relic by the Prime Minister in 2017.

This festival held annually aims to show great gratitude towards gods and pray for good health, happiness, good weather and harvests, and for peace in the country. The rituals have become a significant spiritual activitiy which attracts people living in Dong Xa commune in particular and those from various localities in general.

According to the management board, about 21,000 tourists have vistied the temple since February 5, or the first day of the Lunar New Year.
