To achieve the purpose of becoming a city by 2020 with the key economic structure of industry, services, ensuring sustainable environment, in recent years, Cam Pha city has been actively focusing on transforming the economic growth model and made the most of its unique advantages and potential to boost tourism and services.
Positive changes
Neighbouring the two key tourism areas namely Ha Long and Van Don, with a long coast line of 73 km, Cam Pha city owns Bai Tu Long bay with a large number of beautiful spots and attractions. Besides, it is the home to 24 outstanding historic, cultural and architectural relics and buildings, as well as a the natural hot mineral springs in Quang Hanh and Cam Thach wards, which is considered as the best advantages to develop modern resorts.
For these facilities, in line with implementing the Resolution N02-NQ/TU dated on February 5, 2016 by the Quang Ninh Provincial Party’s Committee on developing Quang Ninh’s services in 2016-2020 tenure and in the orientation to 2030”, the People’s Committee of Cam Pha city has launched a variety of programs and carried out special projects in an efforts to develop tourism. Accordingly, Cam Pha has set master plans for tourism development till 2020 and in a vision to 2030. The city has actively collaborated with other provincial functional authorities in undertaking robust measures to tourism development in Bai Tu Long Bay and associated with the neighbouring localities of the province in organizing tourism activities.
It can be seen that in the recent years, Cam Pha city has made positive changes in tourism. Of which, many tourism projects have been sped up to diversify tourism products. Notably, with the aim of developing spiritual tourism, the City People’s Committee prioritises to conserve historic, cultural relics and preserve festivals, such as Dien Vong and Cao Lam temples; restore Quang Hanh temple festival, Soong Co singning, etc.
Meanwhile, the city has paid much concerns with building hi-quality accomodation bases and entertaiment complexes, etc.
These great efforts help not only to conserve traditional cultural values but also to offer diversified tourism products to tourists.
Resort tourism is also one of the potential of Cam Pha city. Bestowed with a rare source of natural hot mineral springs, Cam Pha city has cooperated with the Sun group to develop a hi-class hot mineral spring resot in Quang Hanh ward while continuing to develop eco-tourism with Vung Duc relic, a system of caves in Bai Tu Long Bay, Quang Hong and Luong Ngoc beaches, so as to turn Cam Pha into an attractive destination.
Cam Pha eyes to sustainable tourism development
With 120 accomodation establishments including 10 hotels, 62 guest houses, etc, the infrastrure system in Cam Pha has been gradually improved to be well prepared for the increasing demands of visitors coming to Cam Pha. In addition, it also helps to develop Cam Pha into a tourism city, in a good connection with Ha Long and Van Don.
In late August of 2017, there were 5 attractions in Cam Pha city approved by the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee. They are Cua Ong Temple; Vung Duc historic relic and spot; Geological Hot Mineral Spring center; Quang Hong and Luong Ngoc beaches.
In the upcoming time, Cam Pha strives to become an industrial, seaport, service and tourism city in the orientation of civilization and modernization, developing a green economy in line with the comprehensive development direction of the province. The city targets to turn tourism into a long-lasting and sustainable key economic sector so that all its potential would be tapped in an effectively way in association with conserving and promoting all the values of cultural heritages and protecting the environment.
