Not just an untouched and beautiful tourist island commune, Cai Chien still preserves its precious cultural heritage - Cai Chien communal house where the first party cell of Hai Ha district was established.
According to historical documents, Cai Chien communal house was built in the Hau Le dynasty in the 18th century, worshipping 8 deities and the village’s tutelary God. Through many historical fluctuations, the communal house still retains many vestiges and precious relics.
Cai Chien communal house is now in Vung Bau area, Dau Rong hamlet, Cai Chien commune. The communal house is located in the middle of the high and airy mountain which is considered as the most favorable position of Cai Chien village like pearl-releasing dragon
Cai Chien communal house festival is annually held from the 16th -20th day of the first lunar month with many rituals and the festive part with a number of traditional games such as Chinese chess, singing in mandarin’s offices, dual love song singing etc, not only attracting locals but also neighboring localities.
Cai Chien communal house - temple complex is also a "witness" of many historical events. Especially, in mid-1948, the admission ceremony of the first Party members in Ha Coi coastal communes was organized. It was the place where the first Party cell in Hai Ninh coastal province was established.
It can be seen that Cai Chien communal house possesses many unique values which are rich in culture and history associated with revolutionary periods. Currently Hai Ha district is focusing on developing Cai Chien island commune into a high-class tourist destination. Therefore, if a special attention has been given to properly investing in Cai Chien communal temple, this will be one of the great materials for developing cultural and historical tourism in such a potential island commune.
