Building Yen Tu National Special Relic Site into an international tourism center

Yen Tu national special relic site which is the origin of Vietnamese Buddhism has been promoting values, greatly contributing to the overall development of Quang Ninh Province and Vietnam’s tourism industry.

The Yen Tu historical relic and landscape site covering on an area of 9,000 ha located in Phuong Dong Ward, Thuong Yen Cong Commune, Uong Bi City, and Hong Thai Dong Commune, Dong Trieu Town. Of which, Yen Tu national forest with a total natural land of nearly 2,800 ha is considered as a museum preserving the diverse biodiversity of Vietnamese tropical forest system.

Along with mysterious natural landscapes and sacred mountains, the Yen Tu national special relic site also owns special values of cultural and spiritual history.  After many years, the system of pagodas, stupas, statues and ancient reilc had been degraded. To restore and preserve the legacies that our ancestors had made, recently, Quang Ninh in general and Uong City City in parcicular have continuously mobilized resouces to invest in and embellish relics system, thereby affirming Yen Tu’s values and important positions as well.

In parallel with the concern by the local authority, clearly defining the values of the Yen Tu national special relic site, enterprises and Tung Lam Development JSC as a pioneer have actively accompanied Uong Bi City to preserve and promote the relic’s values. The Tung Lam Development JSC invested in many international–level unique projects such as Yen Tu cable car system, Truc Lam Yen Tu Cultural Center, Yen Tu Legacy Resort etc. which are ideal destinations for those who love relaxation.

With majestic natural landscapes, timeless relics and high-class services, Yen Tu not only attracts an increasing number of domestic and international visitor arrivals during the festive season but also all year round. As of the end of Sept., 2019, Yen Tu welcomed over 1 mil. tourist arrivals, including nearly 200,000 international tourist arrivals, a 20% year on year increase.
