"Banh chung" making competitions held for troops

Some units in Quang Ninh province held "banh chung" (square glutinous rice cake) making competitions to help troops have a happy and cozy lunar New Year.

At Hai Hoa Border Station in Mong Cai city, a Banh Chung - making contest was jointly held by Hai Hoa Border Station, Hai Ha ward and the Forest Enterprise No. 27.

200 out of 300 finished Banh Chung were presented to Hai Ha ward, the Forest Enterprise No.27 and local schools.

On February 5, the 147 Marine Brigade organized the "Green Banh Chung" contest on the occasion of upcoming Lunar New Year in Quang Yen town.

The "banh chung" making competition was part of the activities to ensure food supplies for troops during the lunar New Year holidays, educate and encourage them to preserve the beautiful culture of the nation, enrich team work skills, and enhance solidarity.

The activity was also to create a happy atmosphere for troops to successfully fulfill guard duties during Tet.
