On June 24, 2019, Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee approved the project "Eco-tourism development in Bai Tu Long National Park to 2020, with orientation to 2030", opening up a new opportunity to awaken tourism potential.
Bai Tu Long National Park is considered as a comprehensive complex with soil mountain, limestone, cave and sea ecosystems. Marine ecosystems include coral reefs, sea-grass and mangrove forests. This is a very important factor to develop various types of eco-tourism and adventure tourism as well.
Along with that, Bai Tu Long National Park has a lot of pristine beautiful beaches at the top of the North, primeval forests with many wild animals, suitable to develop beach and resort tourism, forest trekking etc.
Owning countless resources that any tourist destination dreams of, however, these advantages of Bai Tu Long National Park are still potential. For many years, people coming to Bai Tu Long National Park are mainly scientists, research and survey teams. The reason is that the terrain there is large and dangerous, causing tourism limitation. At the same time, the lack of legal corridors, preferential mechanisms and policies for enterprises developing eco-tourism is also a significant barrier.
Thanks to the project “"Eco-tourism development in Bai Tu Long National Park to 2020, with orientation to 2030", which has been approved by Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, these barriers will be soon resolved, bringing new chances for tourism development in Bai Tu Long National Park. Accordingly, ecotourism activities allowed to be implemented in Bai Tu Long National Park include adventure tourism; picnics, camping, experiential eco-tourism and beach resort; community-based eco-tourism.
It can be said that the project has opened up great opportunities, promising to better exploit Bai Tu Long National Park’s potential while ensuring the conservation and preservation of natural values.
