A symposium on special economic zones took place in Da Nang city on Nov. 7 within the framework of the Vietnam Business Summit. On this occasion, Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Long had a remarkable speech on the development of Van Don Special Administrative and Economic zone.
Accordingly, along with Bac Van Phong in central Khanh Hoa province and Phu Quoc in southern Kien Giang province, Van Don in Quang Ninh is one of the three districts that was decided by the government to develop into a special administrative-economic zone.
Based on the successful lessons of the world’ leading administrative and economic zones and curent situation of Vietnam, it can be confirmed that Van Don gathers all the necessary conditions to become a special administrative-economic zone.
Chairman of Quang Ninh Nguyen Duc Long said that Quang Ninh has made great determination to carry out the Party and State’s guideline of building special economic zones.

The Vietnam Business Summit 2017 is a part of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week which is taking place in Da Nang city from November 6-11. It is held by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry in order to bring chances for the Vietnam’s enterprises to meet the leaders of the region’s leading enterprises, as well as to boost their investments. It is also a good opportunity for international investors to explore all the Vietnam’s potential for investment cooperation.
