Ancient terracotta discovered in Ngoc Vung, Van Don

A local media reported that Nguyen Hoang Doan based at Ngoc Nam Hamlet, Ngoc Vung Commune, Van Don District has discovered an ancient terracotta 3-storey tower measuring 40 cm in height and having four facets with Buddha engraved image inside.

According to Kieu Dinh Son, Manager of Quang Ninh Museum, the terracotta relic might be involved in Van Don trading port, one of the most prosperous ports in Ly – Tran Dynasty. Son added that relics which were previously discovered at some locations in Van Don trading Port in the past were made of the similar material. The tower is being kept by family of Nguyen Hoang Doan.
