Main contractors in the highway project connecting Ha Long city with the Bach Dang bridge have mobilized construction equipment and work crews to finish the project in a timely manner.
Once complete, the road of almost 20km with four lanes and a designed speed of 100 kilometers per hour will be worthy of the VND6,800 billion investment and contribute to the socio-economic development of Quang Ninh province, ensure national defense and guarantee security for the North East region.
Much of the work goes through many ponds, an estuarine lagoon and an estuary; therefore contractors should have to adjust many technical factors to accelerate the progress of construction work.
The construction began in September last year, with completion expected within 2016.
Relevant agencies of Quang Ninh province have prepared well for the inauguration of Bach Dang bridge in January 2015. The 48-month construction has a total length of 4.3-kilometers and links the Mac Dynasty Lagoon with Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway over the Bach Dang river. It helps to perfect the Ha Long - Hai Phong expressway, thus reducing the 60 kilometers trip for passengers to around 1 hour and 30 minutes.
